My Work

Golder Software Systems Ltd

I finished full-time employment when I left England. In fact, I was self-employed for a long period there too. Now I am self-employed (if you could call it that) in Thailand, where I am supporting myself, my Thai girlfriend and generally helping out wherever possible. In order to work for myself legally in Thailand, I have had to obtain a special visa (several times), set up a registered Thai company, apply for a work permit to be the Managing Director (twice), travel to the Thai Embassy in Penang, Malaysia (twice), and across to Myanmar via Ranong (too many times). The result of all this aggravating (and ongoing) legwork is that I can now legally live and work in Thailand as the managing director of Golder Software Systems Ltd. The company is now nearly two years old, and has a few projects under it's belt, plenty of work on and a few key customers keeping it's bills paid. However, it's still very much early days at the moment.
