About me

I am one of those people that are into computers. Have been since I was a kid. I was born and raised in Oxford, England, where I started writing programs on a Sharp MZ80K. That was about 22 years ago. I evolved from there.

Life, friends and family

Now, I'm living in Thailand where I work in many areas of computing, but mostly as a software engineer. I live with my girlfriend, Rasamee Pacheua (Thai, 28 yrs), or just 'Mee' as most people know her, in a small wooden bungalow in Ban Krut, Prachuab Kirikhan, Thailand. I have learned to speak (and read and write) the Thai language, and have become accustomed to Thai culture and ways of life. However, I have only been here a few years, so I still have a lot to learn! Being a 'farang' (foreigner) in Thailand is not without it's difficulties, which I will try to elaborate on via this website and my monthly reports.

My family all still live in England, although they have visited. I only go back to England when absolutely necessary (last time I took Mee, July-Sept 2004). Most of my friends are now Thai, but I still miss all my friends back at home, most of which I still keep in touch with via e-mail, instant messaging or Internet-based voice calls.

I try to keep a monthly journal of my life here in Thailand, which I post to a small mailing list of friends and family. Please feel free to subscribe or view recent posts.

I also try to keep a technical blog, but it's infrequently updated and usually just contains ramblings about non-technical stuff.
